Building conservation in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.
In 2008 we provided a listed building survey and started organising building conservation work to this 16th Century Grade II listed building. The work was phased over two years and included removing all the impervious cement roughcast render, repairs to the timber frame, repairs to roofs and rainwater goods, repair and redecoration of external joinery. The scope of work was restricted by funding which has left overhanging trees and ongoing damp problems. We also advised against the use of harmful silicate paint, instead of limewash, on the lime render.
