In the above case, a Devon Long House, not a Listed building but an historic building requiring the same building conservation approach for all future repairs and alterations. Extensive lime mortar repairs and lime plaster repairs were required to the traditional solid stone walls; ground levels and surface water drainage also needed attention.

Listed building surveys

Listed Building Surveys

Specialist listed building surveys for any Grade I, Grade II* and Grade II listed buildings throughout England and beyond. Our listed building surveys include a top level building survey, together with specialist listed building advice, checks for unauthorised work, building conservation advice, reliable conservation cost advice and a straightforward report. Our listed building surveys are suitable for purchasers of listed buildings and listed property owners.

Listed building surveys often reveal far more than is apparent from the surface. In the above case, a wonderful 14th Century Grade I Listed building in Fyfield, Essex included a period timber frame that was largely concealed behind the Georgian Facade and internal alterations. Our listed building surveys include an historic analysis of the building; investigating the original construction and changes over time. We also provide conservation cost advice for essential repairs and for remediation work associated with any unauthorised alterations.
